“ Many, many years ago I started to suspect something was seriously wrong in my life. It didn't matter how hard I tried, I always seemed to be blocked off from my calling. It didn't matter how much faith I had, or how much I prayed, nothing seemed to shift.
In desperation one day, I opened my Bible at random and plunked down my finger. (I don't recommend this, but God was merciful.) I got 1 Kings 15:14, "Although he did not remove the high places, Asa’s heart was fully committed to the Lord all his life."
That didn't seem helpful. I tried again. This time I got 2 Kings 15:3-4, "He did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, just as his father Amaziah had done. The high places, however, were not removed; the people continued to offer sacrifices and burn incense there."
That wasn't helpful either. I decided to give it one last try. This time up came 2 Chronicles 20:32-33, "Jehoshaphat walked in the way of his father Asa and did not turn away from it; he did what was right in the eyes of the Lord. The high places, however, were not removed; the people had not yet set their hearts on the God of their fathers."
Now of course, have noticed that there's a theme here. Basically, it's: "He was a good king but he did not remove the high places."
God invited me on a journey to address those high places within my heart that I was blind to. It did not happen overnight, but gradually by His spirit He revealed what needed to go. One by one , we set out together to the task of removing my high places and bringing me into my destiny. “
Just as God expected the Kings to remove the high places of idolatry in the Kingdom of Israel so that she would be a sign to the nations, God expects us as Kings and Queens to remove the high places we have set up in the lands of our heart that don’t yield to His care and Lordship.
In this seminar, you’ll learn how to identify the roots of idolatry and unbelief in your heart and be invited into a journey of systematically removing these high places that keep you captive and lacking in true authority and freedom.
Our hearts are filled with idolatry and we draw from empty cisterns that do not satisfy, all the while knowing this should not be so in our lives .
The Bible is a mirror. It tells us that despite being saved, there remain many parts of our heart not yielded to Him. His Spirit works to reveal the high places in us to dismantle, the false refuges we run to, the idolatry of worship, and of our independence of Him.
Most high places within us are established through wounding. Our sinful responses to trauma and life tempt us to set up systems and programs to survive and to meet deep need apart from Christ. Over time, these become automatic , hidden practices in our heart that we rely on to live and to survive life apart from Christ. Sometimes, high places are set up through ignorance, sometimes through wilful denial of our complicity with the enemy, sometimes through an unwillingness to face our own darkness or that of those we love.
But God is patient. He wants to open the eyes and ears of our hearts , to help us face ourselves and to allow Him to change us. We have been called to be a Royal Priesthood, a Holy Nation, Consecrated , Redeemed and set apart , authorised to administrate His Kingdom by representing His heart . Yet as Kings and Queens set in place , we do not often reflect His likeness or lead as He would. We are not always familiar with the ways and protocols of His heart. In all of us, there remain resistant , stubborn high places in our hearts that need to be pulled down.
God has called us to serve Him in maturity and authority and He invites us to work with Him to prepare our hearts for this noble task.
This seminar is one such tool to help you contend with the areas of your life that keep tripping you up and to set you free from places of inner captivity , fear, pride , independence , offence and rebellion that flow from an unhealed and immature heart. This is the journey of spiritual discipleship to transform us into the likeness of Jesus, to sanctify the unholy within us, to develop Godly character , so preparing us for the noble task He has called us to of loving His people .
Benefit from this seminar personally and be equipped to minister to others , helping to restore their glory and holiness one heart at a time, beginning with yours.
